Reshma’s First Project: Vogue #8020
Reshma came to classes with a picture for inspiration for her first project:
We looked around the pattern books and settled on Vogue #8020. In fact, her inspiration may very well be a version of it they are so similar.
And so off we went. After a fitting in muslin, this is what she came up with:

This is a great little dress that is easy to make and pretty straightforward. The only note we would give you is this: Either do a muslin fitting beforehand so that you know how the pleats need to balance out or don’t attach the skirt until you have the bodice fitted.
The fitting is tricky because of the dropped waist. If you don’t get it right, it looks out of proportion. If you don’t account for this, then the pleats don’t balance out properly.
