Melissa’s Houston Quilt Show Project

“I know we don’t really do quilts up here, but can I put my blouses aside and finish up the details on an art quilt I’ve been working on in my own time for my entry into the Houston Quilt Show in November?”

Slipstitching…

Folks, the answer to that is almost always yes – creativity takes many forms and we are happy to help you show off yours, even though we’d disagree with the idea that quilting is a good place to start a comprehensive set of sewing skills.

Melissa Dessent had been working on her own on a modern quilt that represents what we are all worried about.  She titled it “Crying for Our Future” and submitted it to the Houston Quilt Show.  It was accepted and will be traveling the United States as part of their touring exhibition for the next two years.
