Peggy brought a black slinky square cut blouse by Helmut Lang into the studio workroom wondering if we could recreate and improve on it as her second sewing class project.
After the initial tracing and reconfiguration, we ended up with something that draped a bit better than the original and was ultimately a better garment.

The original blouse had a bound neckline and was slightly off in the fit at the shoulder, so Peggy adjusted the shoulder and did a rolled chiffon hem edge by hand down the front and around the neckline. The side inset panels were narrowed a little so that her slight frame wouldn’t get lost in the rectangular grain line cuts and off she goes!
